If you’re like me, you can agree that finding healthy foods to serve your family (that they all like!) can be difficult. My friend, Mary, is on a mission to inspire healthier living and has some great ideas to share with us today!

Mary says, “Being a mom to 3 young boys means someone is always hungry! Preparing a “graze tray” is one of my favorite ways to make snack time easier for all of us. Everyone can usually find something they like and it keeps the kids focused on the healthy choices in front of them instead of rummaging through the pantry.”

Energy Balls!

Another snack time favorite she shared was homemade energy balls! There are so many fun ways to make these but her favorite recipe tastes like a Reese’s cup!
Healthy Snacks with Boys
“These are super easy to make and I love that the kids can help too. They store great in the fridge and are great for after school snacks or even to add to their lunchboxes…if they last that long!”

Energy Recipe:

3 cups rice cereal
1/2 cup Vanilla Complete
1/2 cup Chocolate Complete
2/3 cup raw honey
2/3 cup peanut butter
Mix, roll into balls, refrigerate and serve!

Popsicles!

And if your kids are like mine, they are constantly begging for popsicles and frozen treats in this summer heat!! I love how Mary made homemade popsicles as a healthier alternative for her boys.

Mary said, “We made homemade popsicles off and on but my youngest started asking for them first thing in the morning! I decided to surprise him one day with a strawberry banana Complete popsicle and felt no guilt offering it at breakfast, knowing it contained a plant protein boost with tons of plant powders. Talk about a mom win!”

Home Made Popsicle Recipe:

1 banana
handful strawberries
handful blueberries
1 scoop Vanilla Complete
6 oz almond milk
handful spinach leaves

Mix in blender and pour into popsicle molds. Freeze until ready to serve!

My boys are obsessed too and each have their own favorites. Knowing that, in addition to their gummies, they are also getting a mix of alfafa sprouts, chickpea powder, radish sprouts, broccoli sprouts, millet, quinoa, amaranth and more each day…but think it’s chocolate milk? Pure genius.”
