Here it is: Part 2 of Newborn Essentials for Your Baby Registry! One post just wasn’t enough to share all of the great ideas I received from moms on Facebook, Instagram, and elsewhere. Be sure to check out Part 1 if you missed it, as well as this post that includes a handy checklist of all your baby must-haves.
Newborn Essentials for Your Baby Registry
On the Go
Car Seat
An infant car seat is obviously a safety need whether you’re running errands around Houston or going on grand adventures with your little one. Moms recommend choosing one with a base that clips into all family cars so that you can easily transfer the car seat from one vehicle to another. This makes it much more convenient if you’re a multi-car household, or even on those occasions when you’re visiting family or renting a car for a trip.
Stroller
Having a baby is such a big adjustment, and many mamas have reported that a good stroller helps so much with being able to get out and feel normal. For exercising with baby, brands like BOB Gear or Thule specialize in jogging strollers that will handle just about any terrain.
Bonus: Car Seat and Stroller Combo. Why not go for a two-in-one? Several of my moms have reported that they love the Doona Car Seat and Stroller Combo for ultimate versatility when they’re on the go with baby.
In the Nursery
Crib
There are so many options for cribs out there, but many of my clients have a soft spot for RH. Their cribs are beautifully crafted to be a safe and cozy place for baby to sleep as well as a focal point in the nursery.
Bassinet
Lots of mamas also recommend a portable crib option such as Newton or Halo for while baby is a newborn. It can be much easier to have baby in your bedroom for those frequent nighttime feedings, and also provides a comfy option to bring along when you’re staying with family. (Believe me, all those doting grandparents will want a visit from you!)
Nursing Chair. You will definitely want a comfortable space to sit in the nursery for you to feed and snuggle with your baby. A soft and supportive glider or recliner, like these ones from Pottery Barn Kids, is a must!
