I believe seeing your portraits in print is truly the best part of the entire photography session experience. We will also plan your next session at this time if you are part of the First Year Baby Plan. I am truly so honored and overjoyed to play a role in capturing your newborn photography; it's my joy to capture your growing family.
Your viewing and ordering appointment is when you get to see your images at the studio for the first time and order what you love! Bring the tissue; those hormones are real, and there are always happy tears. Most maternity and newborn clients choose the baby plan, and order images to go into their first year.
Studio or at home lifestyle; a typical newborn portrait session can range anywhere from 1 hours to 3 hours. Your session will be completely baby led, so we will just take our time with feedings, diaper changes, and mommy snuggles. I recommend planning about an hour for hair and makeup before your session as well. This is a special experience!
From hair and makeup, to what to wear, we will customize and design the perfect style for your newborn portraits. I have gowns and newborn accessories in the studio that you are welcome to borrow, or I can help you choose your own. We will plan your final artwork, and when your newborn session will take place.

Q. Where do newborn sessions take place?
Most Houston newborn photography sessions take place in our comfortable studio, thoughtfully designed to create a calm, relaxing experience for both you and your baby. From soft wraps and beautiful props to a curated studio wardrobe for moms, everything is prepared before you arrive.
For families who prefer a more relaxed setting, we also offer in-home lifestyle newborn sessions. Together, we'll choose the option that's the best fit for your family and create timeless portraits you'll treasure for years to come.
Q. What about adding a maternity session?
The best time to reserve your Houston newborn photography session is during your second trimester. Because we photograph a limited number of newborns each month, most families book several months before their due date. Once your baby arrives, we'll simply adjust your session date if needed.

The ideal time for newborn photography is when your baby is between 10 and 14 days old. During this stage, babies are typically sleepier and more comfortable being gently posed. If your baby is older, don't worry! We photograph older newborns all the time and can still create beautiful portraits.
Q. What is the best age for newborn photos?
Most maternity sessions take place between 28–32 weeks of pregnancy, although many families reserve their Houston maternity photography session as early as 12 weeks. Booking early helps ensure availability since we photograph a limited number of maternity and newborn clients each month. Many of our families choose to reserve both their maternity and newborn sessions together.
Q. How much does newborn photography cost?
Every family is different, so we offer several session options and custom artwork collections to fit your needs. During your consultation, we'll walk you through everything, answer your questions, and help you choose the experience that's the best fit for your family. We believe that every portrait is prettier in print.
Q. What if my baby won't sleep?
Don't worry... we've photographed hundreds of newborns, and babies don't always sleep on cue! We allow plenty of extra time to feed, soothe, cuddle, and comfort your baby throughout the session. Whether your newborn baby is sleepy, wide awake, or somewhere in between, we'll create beautiful portraits you'll love & cherish forever.
