One way I do that is by offering at home newborn session options. This is a new mama favorite! There is something so peaceful and magical about being able to capture this earliest stage of your little one’s life in the comfort of your own home.

Family Portraits Posed

We’ll create family images of you with your newborn that feel natural and relaxed, but still have the classic portrait vibe.

Family Portraits Candid

At home newborn sessions are unique in that they allow you to capture these memories where you’re most comfortable. This makes it so easy to create candid family portraits as you interact with each other in your own space and just enjoy being together.

Mom and Dad with Baby

If this is your first little one, then these are the same as your family pictures. But if you have older children or other family members who are part of our family photos, I also like to set aside some time to get images of the parents together with their new little one.

Individual Parent and Baby Photos

Photographing each parent individually with their baby truly highlights the special relationship between this little one and their mama or daddy. Pure sweetness!

Baby with Other Family Members

One of the things I love about an at home newborn session is that it’s so perfect for including other family members. If older siblings, grandparents, or even fur-babies are part of your newborn session, it’s always fun to create one-on-one portraits with them and baby.

Individual Portraits

I’ll often start an at home newborn session with a few individual portraits of baby’s proud big brothers and sisters. I find this helps children to warm up to me and makes them feel like the center of attention so they’re happier to cooperate with family photos and other group portraits. It works with fur-babies too!

Newborn Portraits

We all know who the real star of the show is! Whether at your home or in the studio, I’ll make sure we capture plenty of baby-only newborn portraits. We don’t want to miss a single detail!

Things to Consider for Your At Home Newborn Session

You won’t miss out any of the studio amenities if you choose to do your newborn session at home. The talented hair and makeup team can come to you (give yourself about an hour for this before your photoshoot) so that can look and feel amazing without ever leaving the house.

The beautiful gowns and outfits from my studio wardrobe are also at your disposal. You’re welcome to choose something from my client closet to wear for your session, or I can help you put together outfit choices of your own for the whole family.

I’ll bring everything we need, including wraps, swaddles, headbands and all the other pretty touches that add so much to your images. This is a luxury experience designed for you, so I will take care of all the details.

My goal for any session is to create custom artwork that you can pass down to your babies…and their babies. Once I’ve edited your gallery, we’ll get together for your design appointment, where you’ll choose your favorite images to transform into prints, albums, and other keepsakes for you and your family to cherish.
