Because I’m getting to know you, I thought that you might like to know a little more about me. The real life stuff.

Where am I From?
I’m not really sure where I’m from. As a child, my family moved a lot. I was born in Lafayette, LA, went to elementary school in Huntington Beach, CA, moved to Midland, TX for a few months in 5th grade, and then moved all the way around the world to Jakarta, Indonesia. I went to middle School there and got to travel to some amazing places like Bali and Australia. After middle school, my parents moved to Houston, TX a few days before high school started (culture shock!)
Let’s just say that when people asked me where I was from, I never knew exactly what to say. So, I just said, TX, because that was home base, where my grandparents were, and where my parents grew up. My grandparents’ home was where I looked at old pictures, my grandmothers’ stained glass windows, and paintings. I know now where my love of art came from. And now, I’m proud to say Houston, TX is home.
I’m a Mommy
I have 3 babies, 8, 6 & 3. Addison is my oldest, she is my type A child that makes her bed every morning and I don’t have to ask her to do her homework because it’s already done. Hannah is 6 and she’s the most like me. She’s a free spirit, has lots of friends, is so, so messy and cries when I tell her she has to clean her room. She loves to sing, and cook, and play. Grayson is my baby boy. He’s 3 years old and challenges me in new ways every day. Boys have an energy that only boy moms can understand. But he loves me so, and I can’t stop babying him even though my husband tells me it’s time.
I Struggled with Infertility
If you want to know more, just ask me! I’m an open book. It’s just a really long story but I want you to know that I’m happy to share.
I had 3 C- Sections
All 3 of my babies were all c-section babies. I didn’t want to have a c-section with my first baby, I cried and cried after my delivery because I had this amazing birth plan that didn’t go the way that I had imagined (at all!) I can talk to you all day about post-partum depression, a colic baby, breastfeeding and more. Mama, if you are going though it, I probably did too. What I’ve learned over the years is that more than likely nothing will go according to your plan, so just hold on for the ride, because your story will be yours, and planning it won’t be near as amazing as you could have imagined. Plus, you will have lots of good stores to tell.
We are a Dog Family
Our 15 year old lab (and first baby) passed away last year so we just adopted Hope from “Who Rescued Who” we love her, even though she’s a little naughty.
My Biggest Regret
Newborn & Maternity Pictures. I don’t have any. What I have is below. The maternity picture is with my sister. We were pregnant at the same time when she was expecting her first baby and I was expecting Hannah, my second baby. After my first baby, I don’t remember even thinking about pictures because I was a hot mess after my c-section. I’m pretty sure that I went to the mall when she was a month old and screaming from colic. They managed to get a shot of me feeding her with a Dr. Brown’s bottle. I had my plastic flip flips on too. It was so bad. I’ll have to find that picture and show ya’ll. it’s so terrible all I can do is laugh.
Why am I telling you this? Because you need to invest in photography, your babies will grow faster than you can imagine and then you will be sad you didn’t take the time to capture the memories. I wish I would have.
P.S. C-Section Mamas, I’ll come to you. This is why I do what I do. We will have hair and makeup come to your house to get you ready and then I’ll show up and you won’t have to do anything but hold your sweet baby. I’ve been there and I want you to have these beautiful portraits too.
Things I Love
How did I find my style? My type of photography? I think it’s from my background, but gathered from the things I love also. Below are a few of my favorites:
Pottery Barn Kids
If I won the lottery I’d have them come decorate my kids rooms, plus my studio. They have a silver mirror with butterflies on it, and a pink rocking chair, that I’ve kept my eye on lately. Studio dreams.
Ballard Designs
Come to think of it, I love Ballard too, like everything. Have you seen Ballard wall art, rugs and window treatments? If not, you should.
Nordstrom
This store makes me happy. You can walk in, tell them what you are looking for, and they will be on a mission to find it for you. I don’t have the perfect pre-baby body anymore, and they will help me find clothes that fit, that are classy, and great quality. I like their shoes too, my black flats are my fav for second shooting weddings.
Starbucks
I don’t go there every day, sadly, I use my Keurig. But I really like coffee. So if someone wants to bring me a drink, and asks what my favorite is, I really don’t care. If it’s from Starbucks, I’ll probably like it.
Chipotle
I’m not sure why, maybe its the super modern black and white frames they have hanging on their walls, but I like the food too ;).
Sherwin Williams
If you know my husband, you know why. Who doesn’t love pretty paint?
Christmas
I love everything Christmas. When Hobby Lobby puts there stuff out in July just so I can walk up and down the isles, I get really excited. I love Christmas trees, Christmas cards, the candles and all of the decorations. I love Christmas music, Christmas traditions and Christmas memories. It’s my favorite time of the year.
