Baby and Child Portrait Photography
This was such a fun child portrait photography session! Newborn sessions are super popular, (and I love them) but there’s no reason older babies shouldn’t share the love too. Although I don’t get as many requests for toddler sessions, they are such a delight to do. I’d highly encourage any parent to book regular portraits of their child. Those memories are so precious! Believe me, investing in high-quality portraiture is something you’ll always be glad you did.
Sage’s Bathtime Child Portrait Photography Session
This little miss is two years old and such a cutie! Mom wanted to capture the toddler stage of her life with a combination of studio and outdoor pictures….That was the plan–but with child portrait photography you have to be flexible. Little ones sometimes have their own ideas.
We started out in the Oak Atelier studio (which we had rented for the occasion), and got some beautiful photos of Mom and Sage together. We also got some individual portraits of Sage, and then decided to try out the bathtub. We had been intending to shoot in an outdoor location after that, but once Sage had experienced the bathtub nothing else would do!
This sweetheart is definitely a water baby! She loved turning on the faucet, playing with the sprayer, and splashing in the warm water. Invitations to go outside were met with flat refusal. Who wants to go outside when there’s so much good clean fun going on inside?
We kept Sage in her dress as long as we could, but everyone knows that baths and naked babies were made for each other. Before long, Sage stripped down to nothing but her hair bow so she could enjoy her bath to the fullest. So cute! Mom and I both had a great time watching her have so much fun. Proof that sometimes the best sessions are the ones that don’t go according to plan.
