Outdoor Fall Family Photo Session

Fall is a popular time for family photo sessions. I have been kept very busy lately, but I’m enjoying being able to connect with so many wonderful people. This family lives in Houston, so we decided to do this outdoor session in Terry Hershey Park. It’s a beautiful spot that I’ve used frequently.

Outdoor sessions are best done in the morning or evening when the light is best. This was an early morning session, perfect for catching the fresh glow of sunrise. The temperature was nice and cool too, so fall sweaters and scarves made appropriate attire. Since mom and dad were planning to use the images from this family photo session for both Christmas cards and artwork for the home, we needed a flexible color scheme. Festive enough for the holiday season, with the right colors to match their home decor, and classic so that the pictures can be displayed year-round for many years to come. Classic, timeless portraiture happens to be my specialty, so we were able to work out the perfect wardrobe during our pre-session consultation.

The kiddos in this family are the same age as mine, which made this session especially fun for me. Their kids are so sweet, and did a wonderful job for me. I love all the individual and family portraits we were able to create together.

Although luxury portraiture is my focus, I’m always happy to accommodate requests from clients. When we were planning this family photo session, mom asked if I could take some landscape images of the trees. Trees are very special to her and their family. She and her husband even named the tables after trees on their wedding day. It was a pleasure to make their session even more meaningful by dedicating some time to nature photography.

The artwork from your family photo session is meant to be displayed. My style is classic, forever and real. The goal of each session is for you to hold prints, place pictures in frames around your home, and hang them on your walls. These are your forever memories. I feel so lucky to be sharing this special season of life with you and your family.

I have many beautiful options for incorporating your pictures into your home decor, albums of special memories, or cards and announcements. This family is planning to use some of these pictures for holiday cards. They also decided to order a large canvas of the trees for their home, as well as family groupings on both metal and canvas.
