Houston Senior Portraits: Answers to Your Most Common Senior Photography Questions

As a Houston senior portrait photographer (and a mom with a Class of 2027 senior!), I’ve been getting a lot of questions about senior pictures lately. Whether you’re just starting to think about senior portraits or you’re ready to book your session, I wanted to answer some of the most common questions I hear from families.
Why Are Some Seniors Doing Group Sessions With Other Photographers?
Many photographers offer senior rep programs or group sessions as a way to market their businesses while photographing multiple seniors at the same time. These sessions can be a lot of fun because friends get to be together, and seniors often enjoy sharing the experience.
This approach also helps photographers fill their calendars for the season. The photographers who offer these programs are usually very organized, and it’s a great option if you’re looking for multiple group experiences throughout the year.
Do You Offer a Senior Rep Program?
At this time, I do not offer a senior rep program.
I run a portrait photography studio, which means the goal of each senior portrait session is to create beautiful printed artwork for the senior and their family. We create keepsake albums, custom wall portraits, graduation announcements, gifts for grandparents, and matching digital images for sharing on social media.
Every senior photography session is private and custom-designed for you, your senior, and your family. Rather than focusing on multiple group events, I focus on creating a personalized experience and meaningful artwork that will be treasured long after graduation.
Can I Schedule Senior Pictures With My Friends?
Absolutely!
If you would like to include your friends in your senior pictures, we can plan something special just for your group. We’ll photograph both group images and individual portraits of each senior.
After the session, each senior will have their own private ordering appointment to choose the images and products they would like to purchase.
This is a great way to celebrate friendships while still creating portraits that are uniquely yours.
Can Parents and Siblings Be Included?
Of course! In fact, I highly recommend it.
Senior year is a milestone for the entire family, and many parents use these portraits for their Christmas cards that year.
For many families, this is also the last family portrait they’ll hang on their walls before their children leave home to spread their wings and begin the next chapter of their lives. These images become even more meaningful with time, which is why I’m always happy to include parents and siblings in a portion of the session.
Can We Do Multiple Locations and Outfit Changes?
Yes!
One of the best parts of senior photography is creating a session that reflects your personality and style. Most seniors choose between two and four outfit changes, including their cap and gown.
We can also visit multiple locations around Houston to create a variety of looks throughout your session. Whether you love urban backdrops, nature, elegant architecture, or something unique to your interests, we’ll create a session designed specifically for you.
Do You Offer Professional Hair and Makeup?
We do!
Many seniors choose to begin their experience with professional hair and makeup. Not only does this help you feel confident and camera-ready, but it also creates a polished look for your portraits.
If we start at the studio, we can also create beautiful indoor portraits before heading to our outdoor locations.

When Should I Book My Houston Senior Portrait Session?
If you’re a Class of 2027 senior, the answer is simple: as soon as possible.
I only photograph two to three sessions per week because I also photograph maternity, newborn, family, and headshot sessions throughout the year.
Fall is one of the most popular times for Houston senior portraits, and my schedule fills quickly. November is often completely booked due to my annual Santa sessions, so I recommend reserving your date early to get the season and timing you want.
How Do I Book My Senior Portrait Session?
Booking your Houston senior portrait session is easy.
