Ready for your lifestyle photoshoot? These are great for bloggers, social media influencers, and even small businesses. There’s nothing like showing folks a behind-the-scenes peek of the real you. So how do you make sure your lifestyle photoshoot is the best it can be?

Relax

Some people really know how to work the camera, but if you don’t feel like you’re one of them, that’s okay! You want to know one of the big secrets of looking great in photos? Being relaxed. You don’t have to put on a cheesy smile–especially with a lifestyle photoshoot. If there are particular poses or shots you want, I’m happy to guide you through those. But for the most part I want to make a lifestyle photography session feel like it’s reflecting the real you–at your very best! So just breathe in, tell yourself the camera loves you (trust me, it does!) and let yourself relax while we capture great images.

What’s Your Story?

At its heart, lifestyle photography is all about the story. What do you want to tell your audience? Are you a mommy blogger? Let’s get images that show how much you love spending time with your kiddos and making your house a home. Want to show your followers that cooking can be both delicious and healthy? We can focus on how food makes you feel and the role it plays in keeping you, personally, healthy and happy. Before your lifestyle photoshoot, give some thought to what kind of story you want to share. Doing so will give both you and your photographer a clear idea of what to shoot for (had to do it) and help you stay on track.

Stay Flexible

It’s important to have a vision of what you want from your session. But it’s equally important to stay flexible. As a lifestyle photographer, I like to have a plan ahead of time, but I also get some of my best shots when I’m open to last-minute ideas. Maybe you or your photographer will feel inspired by an object you hadn’t originally planned to incorporate. Maybe circumstances out of your control will happen and force you to adapt. Maybe an unexpected angle will reveal new possibilities. As long as you stay flexible, these kinds of changes can be serendipitous–and can make your lifestyle photoshoot even better than it would have been without them!

Have Fun!

Last, but certainly not least, have a great time! Remember that life is about the moments–and a lifestyle photoshoot can be a super fun experience! That’s certainly one of my goals for our time together. In addition to professional images that help you connect with your followers, I want our time together to be a highlight for you. So what are you waiting for? Let’s get together and create an amazing lifestyle session you’ll never forget!
