This question comes up all the time: “Where do your sessions take place?”

Because I know that every family is different, I like to offer multiple location options for your portrait session. Many of my sessions take place in the studio, but I’m also happy to travel upon request. To give you a better idea of where you might hold your session, here are the most popular options:

Location Options for Your Portrait Session | A Breakdown by Session Type

Maternity Sessions

Most of my maternity sessions are held either in my studio in The Woodlands, Texas, or at a beautiful local nature preserve. Depending on the weather and your personal preferences, we’ll choose the perfect spot!

Newborn Sessions

I offer newborn sessions here at the studio, but that’s not the only option! Knowing from personal experience just how busy life with a newborn can be, I also offer at-home sessions, where we’ll capture newborn portraits in the comfort of your own home.

Family Sessions

Family sessions generally take place outdoors. There are so many beautiful spots in and around Houston! I will often hold family sessions at parks or my favorite nature preserve, or at a favorite location of your choosing, such as a pretty spot on your property.

Petite Sessions

I’ve recently started offering petite sessions, which are short and sweet and designed to capture just one or two pretty images for you and your family to cherish. All of my petite sessions take place in the studio.

Senior Sessions

Senior sessions are held either in the studio or in any of several locations in and around Houston. Senior sessions are often very individual and I love to highlight teens’ personalities, so there’s a lot of variance here! We can go to a park or river, hit some fun locations downtown, or go anywhere else that feels fun and comfortable so that we have the perfect backdrop.

When Is the Best Time for Your Session?

If you’re wondering about timing…

Most moms reserve both their maternity and newborn sessions together to keep things simple. Maternity sessions usually take place between 28-33 weeks, and we’ll pencil in your newborn session for about 2 weeks after your due date. (And don’t worry—I know babies arrive when they want to arrive, so I build enough flexibility into my calendar that we can accommodate any surprises they decide to throw at us!)
