Studio and outdoor maternity sessions have such a different feel, but because they’re both so beautiful, mamas sometimes have trouble deciding which to do! Hopefully by comparing this gallery to one of my studio galleries, you’ll get a feel for which one you prefer.

The variety of images you get during a maternity session can depend a lot on who will be joining us. A mom-only maternity session, for instance, will have different portraits than a session that includes the whole family. Depending on your preferences, we will typically get these types of photographs:

Solo Portraits of the Gorgeous Mama-to-Be

Whether your maternity session is mom-only or includes other members of the family, we will always prioritize beautiful images of you as the mama! This is such a magical time in your life, so we’ll document that baby bump and create pretty portraits for you to treasure forever.

Maternity/Motherhood Photos of Mom and Her Little Ones

Each one of your babies is so precious. Maternity sessions focus on the new life you’re carrying inside you, but I also love to celebrate your relationship with your older child(ren) and your role as a mother.

Couples Portraits of Mom and Dad

I love to add a touch of romance and intimacy to a maternity session with couples portraits. If your spouse or partner will be part of your session, this is such a perfect opportunity to get some beautiful images of the two of you together.

Family Photos

I rarely let a photoshoot go by without getting some family portraits. It’s just too good an opportunity to miss! And there’s something so special about seeing the whole family together as they get ready to welcome a new little one into their midst.

Sibling Portraits

I’m always happy to do individual portraits in a session. Time flies so fast with these little ones, and I want you to have pictures of every stage as they grow and change. Plus, I sometimes find that siblings warm up more quickly when they are the star of the show for a little while!

There are so many decisions to make for any session, but don’t worry, I’m here to help you through every step of the process. From choosing a location to choosing what to wear, and from designing your session to designing your finished artwork, I will help you create a session that is truly perfect for you.

I offer hair and makeup services right here at the studio—or stylists can come to you. I also provide an array of lovely outfit choices, or I’m always here with advice and recommendations to help you select your own.

As with every session, my goal is to create custom artwork for you, your family, and your home. After your portrait session, you’ll attend your design appointment, where you’ll choose the images that you love for us to turn into beautiful albums, framed prints, or canvases.
