I was at Hermann Park in Houston, Texas for a family session just a few days ago and the flowers are gorgeous right now. It made me want to remind everyone that it’s the perfect time of year for a spring portrait session, and to share just a few of my favorite types of session for a lovely spring day.
Portrait Sessions That Are Perfect for Spring
Maternity Portraits
Spring represents new life and fresh starts. What better time for maternity photos? Obviously, whether you get to do your maternity pictures in the springtime depends on where you’re at in your pregnancy. (Maternity sessions are best done between 33 and 36 weeks, and it’s important to book early.) But if the stars align, don’t miss the chance for an outdoor maternity photo session against the lush green backdrop of a Texas spring!
Outdoor Family Photo Sessions
Some of the best photo sessions for spring include the whole family! Whether you’re wanting to do your spring photoshoot on your own property or at one of the many gorgeous public locations in the Houston area, the sunny weather and mild temperatures are sure to make your family photoshoot a wonderful experience.
Senior Photo Sessions
Some of the best locations for senior portraits are outside. (Think school grounds, the sports field, parks, posing with your new car, or in your own backyard.) And, since graduation is just around the corner, spring is the perfect time to get those shots! If you’ve planned ahead and booked early, you can get your senior pictures at the most beautiful time of the year.
Children’s Spring Portrait Sessions
Spring is exciting for everyone, but it’s especially so for kiddos! They love being outside where there’s so much to explore. And if your child is school-aged, I can guarantee they’re already getting antsy for summer break. An outdoor spring photo session can be a great opportunity to help them relax and have fun while you get updated portraits for wall art, the family album, or gifts later in the year.
