I’m a Second Shooter
What does that mean? It means that I photograph weddings with other photographers. Currently, I’m not booking my own weddings. My children are young and we have a lot going on (soccer games, gymnastics, t-ball., etc.) But I do second shoot for wedding photographers from time to time. Did you know that I was an event planner for a long time? While I was planning weddings, I was wishing I was the photographer instead. Will I take wedding clients? Maybe someday, but they will probably be by referral only and for my current client base. Currently I do photograph bridal boudoir, engagement sessions and bridal portraits.
Where am I From?
I’m not really sure where I’m from. As a child, my family moved a lot. I was born in Lafayette, LA, went to elementary school in Huntington Beach, CA, moved to Midland, TX for a few months in 5th grade, and then moved all the way around the world to Jakarta, Indonesia. I went to middle School there and got to travel to some amazing places like Bali and Australia. After middle school, my parents moved to Houston, TX a few days before high school started (culture shock!)
Let’s just say that when people asked me where I was from, I never knew exactly what to say. So, I just said, TX, because that was home base, where my grandparents were, and where my parents grew up. My grandparents’ home was where I looked at old pictures, my grandmothers’ stained glass windows, and paintings. I know now where my love of art came from. And now, I’m proud to say Houston, TX is home.
I’m a Mommy
I have 3 babies, 8, 6 & 3. Addison is my oldest, she is my type A child that makes her bed every morning and I don’t have to ask her to do her homework because it’s already done. Hannah is 6 and she’s the most like me. She’s a free spirit, has lots of friends, is so, so messy and cries when I tell her she has to clean her room. She loves to sing, and cook, and play. Grayson is my baby boy. He’s 3 years old and challenges me in new ways every day. Boys have an energy that only boy moms can understand. But he loves me so, and I can’t stop babying him even though my husband tells me it’s time.
I Struggled with Infertility
