What to wear for your photography session? It’s the question everyone asks themselves once they’ve booked a shoot. And it’s definitely the number one question that I get from my clients! Don’t worry–I’m here to help!

The most important thing to remember is that your session is about you and your family. So the colors and styles you choose should reflect who you are and what you love. While I can give general tips and advice, it ultimately comes down to your unique preferences and creativity.

Type of Photography Session

One thing to consider when thinking about what to wear for your photography session is the kind of photo shoot we’re doing. For example, an elegant gown can be a great choice for maternity pictures, while you may want something more casual, like a maxi dress, for a family session.

Artwork Options

It can also help to plan ahead for how you’re going to use your finished artwork. If there are specific places in your home where you want to display your photos, you can coordinate colors and styles to work well in that area. Or, if you’re using your photos for holiday cards, you might consider how you can work your outfit into a theme for that special season.

Location of Your Session

Where we’ll be taking photos can also help you decide what to wear for your photography session. You definitely want to be comfortable, so if it’s an outdoor session, take the weather into account and play it safe by dressing in layers.
