The holidays are drawing to a close. Maybe that comes as a relief, or maybe you can feel some post-holiday blues coming on. Maybe a bit of both. As I tidy the studio, looking back on memories of this past year and ahead to what the new year will bring, I understand it can be bittersweet. So I thought I would share a little behind-the-scenes into what happens at the studio when Santa leaves—and how we get ready for a fresh new start!
When Santa Leaves the Studio
First of all, Santa takes the props back to the North Pole, where the elves will store them away until it’s time for more magical sessions next year. Here at the studio, I take the trees down, put my festive backdrops away, and vacuum up all those cookie crumbs!

Then it’s time to cull and edit galleries so that families can choose from the very best of their collection. We’ll set up ordering appointments so you can select your photos for printing, framing, or placement in one of our heirloom albums.
And of course…we get ready for our sweet little newborns, beautiful moms, and incredible Houston families who are already scheduled to visit the studio next year.

A Note for the New Year
Saying goodbye to the year can come with a lot of emotions. So can heading into a brand new year and all the unknowns that come with it. Whatever life looks like, I want to assure you that there are beautiful memories to be made, moments to be treasured, and people to love.

I hope the coming year brings happiness and joy to you and your loved ones. And I hope you know that I’m always here to help you capture life’s precious moments! I hope to see you in the studio in 2026!
Very Best Wishes and Lots of Love,
Shannon
