Has the question of where to have your newborn session crossed your mind? Since many photographers only offer studio sessions for newborns, you may not even have considered location options for your baby pictures. With Shannon Reece Jones Photography, you do have a choice!

In the 7 years I’ve been in business, I’ve made it a priority to make my studio (located in The Woodlands, Texas) a beautiful and comfortable place for babies and new moms to spend time. But as a mom myself, I know there’s no place like home. That’s why I also offer lifestyle and at home newborn photography.

How do I decide where to have my newborn session?

You may already know whether you’d prefer a studio or home session. But in any case, we’ll meet before your session to discuss all the details. We’ll chat about your home, your favorite colors, who will be a part of your session, and where you want to hang your images.

After I learn more about you I can help guide you to the perfect location for your session. While your personal preference comes first and foremost, there are also practical considerations. One of the biggest is whether your home has good natural light from the windows. We’ll figure out the best location for you together.

What is the difference between a Houston studio session and an at home lifestyle session?

Truly, the only difference is the venue. With both options, you have access to styling from my fabulous hair and makeup team. We’ll schedule extra time in the studio if you’re coming to me. And if we’re shooting in your home, then we’ll come to you! The stylists will make you look and feel gorgeous, and I’ll bring the wraps and props for baby. I can even bring your outfit too!

Is there a different style for home vs. studio pictures?

My style is consistent no matter where we’re photographing. It’s classic, timeless, and focuses on capturing all of the love in your family. We will always get mom and dad with their new baby, and older siblings as well. Grandparents are welcome too!

Next, I will move onto the baby alone and be sure to capture all of the tiny details. The sweet cheeks, lips, fingers, and toes. These are your forever memories, and we won’t miss a thing!
