Maternity & Newborn Photography
First, Maternity
Where to even begin with this beautiful maternity & newborn gallery? Sweet Ashley reached out after seeing some of her friends’ newborn pictures (she had a studio newborn session with her baby girl – PEEK HERE.)
Ashley already had a precious little girl (who is now a big sister!) and she wanted to document this special time in her life. We planned her maternity portraits at the studio, just to remember this special pregnancy with her sweet baby boy.
She chose a few favorite gowns from our studio wardrobe, below are a few of my favorites…
Hair and Makeup
And we can’t forget that we started with Analisa Hastings Hair and Makeup. Jen is one of her sweet artists, and I love their style.
Newborn
Where to even begin with this AMAZING newborn gallery?!? …
We decided on an at home lifestyle newborn session for baby’s newborn pictures. I met the whole family at their beautiful home in Houston, TX. They had dad’s side of the family in town, along with dad’s sister, and I captured beautiful images in from of this wood window silll full of natural light. I saw it, and said… we need to use that for sure!
Grandparents
I started the session with the most important thing to mom and dad, and that was a large family portrait with both of the grandparents, as well as his sweet sister. Sometimes these callers are a little like a wedding, where I get groupings with the ladies, the men, and then individuals with the baby as well.
Big Sister’s Room
This room was actually big sister’s room, and those were mom’s ballet shoes. I love incorporating part of the family’s story into their entire gallery.
The New Family
I always try to get pictures of Mom with her babies, Dad with his babies, and then everyone together. Is this not the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?
Baby Break
Sometimes families wonder why newborn sessions can take up to 4 hours. I always tell them it’s not really the picture taking, just taking care of the baby ;). Mom was feeding baby brother, and we got some time loving on his big sister ;).
Back to Newborn Pictures
And now that baby is fed and changed, more pictures with his grandparents and family…
Mom and Baby
I have a tender place for mom and baby pictures. Maybe it’s because I’m a mom, and I know that they are only tiny for a little while, and then they grow up way too fast. Ashley’s mom couldn’t be there for this session, so we incorporated this special rocking chair to remember her, and keep her as a part of the session as well.
Newborn Pictures
I always snap pictures of baby’s tiny toes, sweet feet, beautiful face, and all of the details in the nursery that his parent’s are so excited to share.
Siblings
Mom’s favorite pictures… her babies together.
Maternity & Newborn Artwork
And last but not least, the best part of the entire session is when you get to see your beautiful pictures in print. Mom ordered a pretty 40 page album, and these were my 2 favorites for wall art.
