Your Newborn Studio Session

The perfect newborn session can take place in studio or at your home. The main constant in a beautiful newborn session is perfect light.

As a newborn & family photographer, my goal is to capture the love and connection between you, your baby, and your family. Light is key, and as long as I have that, we can photograph you in either location.

But what if I don’t have good lighting in my home? Don’t worry! It’s my job to provide the lighting; natural or with a newborn lighting system that I can bring to your home as well.

What to Wear

New Mom’s often as what to wear to a newborn studio session. I always say that less is more when it comes to colors and patterns.

For a newborn session, we want to focus on your brand new baby, those tiny details, and sweet memories. White is natural, pure, and is always my favorite for simple newborn sessions.

How Old Does Baby Need to Be?

I recommend 5-10 days new for a studio session & 7-14 days new for an at home lifestyle newborn session.

What Do I Dress Baby In?

Just bring your newborn baby in something soft and I’ll change them out of it, wrap them up, and provide all of the newborn accessories that you need.

Can My Other Children Attend Newborn The Session?

Of course. I am a family photographer and this is about your family and the love that you are experiencing right now. If you do have more than 2 children I do recommend an at home lifestyle session.

I can come to you, hair and makeup will come to your home, and you don’t have to worry about packing up and getting everyone in the car that first week home while you are still recovering.

We will have more time and I will be able to capture the special details in your home, and the baby’s nursery as well.

Just a little note: family, maternity and newborn sessions do book several months in advance. For newborn sessions, please be sure to contact me while you are pregnant. Maternity sessions take place between 33-36 weeks. Newborn sessions take place when your baby is 6-12 days old. There are a limited number of sessions each month so please contact me as soon as your can to reserve you date and session time.
