Studio Maternity Photography

Studio maternity photography goes hand in hand with a client wardrobe as well as hair and makeup. Both are an essential part of a professional photography session. The way that photographers really create beautiful artwork, not only begins with light, but with the details as well. A beautiful portrait incorporates textures, colors, accents and more.

Hair and Makeup

Studio maternity photography dresses were on point today! I walked into my studio this morning and found my sweet friend, and co-worker, Analisa Hastings working her hair and makeup magic on our expecting Mama today. She has a cute little room in the photography studio and added air-brush makeup, a soft pink lipstick and the prettiest lashes.

Maternity Dresses

Once hair and makeup was all done, it was time to decide on the dresses. I have a wardrobe full of dress options for moms, and my client brought some of her own as well. We decided on two perfect maternity gowns, in in black, and one in pink. I always post a sneak peek after each session, and couldn’t choose a favorite… so I’m sharing both today…

Your Maternity Photography Session

If you are expecting a newborn baby, the perfect time to reserve your maternity session is around 30 weeks. We will decide on the best location options for you including the photography studio, or an outdoor session. We will also get your newborn session date and time on the calendar as well!  Be sure to call around 12 weeks, to make sure that we can get you on the calendar, as we do book far in advance. A little secret, I typically know that moms are expecting before a lot of their friends and family know ;).
