Spring is on its way and the flowers are already blooming here in Houston, Texas. With the warming weather and beautiful blossoms, it was the perfect season for a children and family photography session with these three sweet sisters: Juliet, Vivian, and little Helaina.
We chose to do this photo shoot outdoors. The weather and scenery was too good to miss! There are so many beautiful places to choose from when selecting a local for outdoor photography. I frequently use a particular field in North Houston that is sun-kissed and pretty much perfect, but this time we switched things up and went to Mercer Botanic Gardens in Humble. It’s only about half an hour from my photography studio, and well worth the short drive.
My favorite part of the gardens were the lush patches of gorgeous bluebonnets. These brightly colored wildflowers are the state flower of Texas and are prolific in this area! They are such a cheerful herald of spring. Mercer Botanic Gardens actually flooded during Hurricane Harvey, so it was especially good to see the gardens open and blooming!
The girls wore matching white dresses with a subtle floral pattern. Clothes like these are perfect for children and family photography, and give a timeless, classic look to photos. The outfits and background combined created a fairy garden feel to this particular photography session.
All three of these sisters are so sweet and adorable! They were so easy to work with and we created a beautiful collection of images for their family to treasure. It was a delight to watch them interact and explore the gardens. What a pleasure getting to know these girls and their personalities as we spent the afternoon in a truly beautiful spot.

Just a little note: photo sessions do book several months in advance. For newborn sessions, please be sure to contact Shannon while you are pregnant. Maternity sessions take place between 33-36 weeks. Newborn sessions take place when your baby is 6-12 days old. There are a limited number of sessions each month so please contact me as soon as you can to reserve you date and session time. I can’t wait for your session!
