At Shannon Reece Jones Photography, I am all about family! And grandparents play such an important role in the lives of their family members! I love it when I have the opportunity to do a newborn photo session with grandparents and other extended family. Here are a few of my favorite ways to include grandparents in newborn photos.

In Person

The ideal way to include grandparents is, of course, in person! If you’re lucky enough to have a visit from grandma and grandpa shortly after baby’s birth, including them in the photo session is a wonderful treat for everyone. I offer both studio and at home lifestyle sessions, and grandparents are welcome in every setting! Grandparents have so much love for a newborn grandchild, and I love capturing that.

In Photographs

For all kinds of reasons, it isn’t always possible for your parents to be there for baby pictures. In cases like these, bringing a photograph of grandma or grandpa can be a great way to include and honor them in your little one’s newborn photo shoot.

Through Keepsakes

One of the many special ways to include grandparents in newborn photos is through keepsakes. If grandma knitted a beautiful blanket just for baby, if grandpa’s watch is something that will be passed on to your little one–bring those things along! I’m happy to include personal items that hold particular value and meaning for you and your family.
